Thermal insulation IZBA Is a modern insulation for a wide range of applications in construction, suitable for efficient energy saving of residential, public and industrial buildings. It is made from environmentally friendly mineral slabs, with the addition of a synthetic binder. The use of IZBA insulation at the stage of new construction or during special thermal insulation of objects can significantly reduce heat loss and reduce heating or air conditioning costs. In addition, savings occur already at the construction stage of newly erected buildings, by reducing the cost of materials for the foundation, when insulating the walls, their thickness is significantly reduced, respectively, the weight of the structure is lower.
The main application of IZBA insulation is associated with various tasks in the field of construction and energy saving. The line of the manufacturer IZBA has a wide range, with different characteristics in terms of density, they allow you to select the optimal density for each building structure.
Insulation IZBA is recommended for thermal insulation:
- Walls and partitions,
- Plaster facades (plastering on the surface of the insulation),
- Pitched roofs and attics,
- Soft roof,
- Interfloor ceilings,
- Insulation of the floor along the logs,
- The loaded floor (laying the screed directly on the insulation).
High density, unique mineral filling and porosity of the structure of the material are an effective combination that allows you to achieve excellent results in heat and sound insulation when using insulation, even with minimal thickening with insulation systems.
IZBA thermal insulation is non-combustible, refractory, withstands temperatures above 1000 ° C. degrees. The material is hydrophobic and resistant to mechanical stress. Basalt thermal insulation of the IZBA brand in its technical properties fully complies with the current Russian standards and regulations.
Insulation IZBA - this is high-quality and environmentally friendly thermal insulation, an excellent combination of affordable cost and high product quality.
What is IZBA insulation
When choosing a heater, one of the main criteria is the environmental friendliness of the material, because a long stay in a room with a toxic finish negatively affects human health. In this regard, mineral wool heaters are out of competition. However, most products in this category are highly hygroscopic, which makes the insulation vulnerable to moisture. Basalt, or rather a product made on its basis, is devoid of such a drawback.
Basalt insulation
IZBA is nothing more than a heat insulator made on the basis of gabbro-basalt rocks. In addition to the main raw materials, the composition includes: additives that make the material hydrophobic, and a binder of synthetic origin. The share of excipients in relation to basalt is negligible, so we can safely say that the product is environmentally friendly at the exit from production.
reference! The ISBA insulator is produced in the form of plates. The volume of packaging depends on the parameters of the material (0.18 - 0.36 m3). The number of slabs contained in it is from 4 to 8 pieces (the determining factor is the thickness of the product).
The ability to choose a heater that is suitable in terms of density and parameters significantly reduces the overspending of the material used and, as a result, money investments.
Advantages and disadvantages
The popularity of the heat insulator is due to a number of advantageous characteristics that the material is endowed with:
- Low thermal conductivity - in combination with high density, the insulation reliably retains heat in the room even in severe frosts.
- Vapor permeability - this indicator provides unhindered air circulation, insulated surfaces "breathe".
- Environmental friendliness - the absence of toxic fumes eliminates the negative impact of the insulator on human health.
- Fire safety - stone wool belongs to the class of non-combustible materials.
- Moisture resistance, which is ensured by low hygroscopicity. This allows the use of insulation for outdoor use and in rooms with high humidity.
- The use of insulation at the stage of building a house allows you to reduce costs on the foundation due to the relatively light weight of the basalt slab.
- High density, retaining heat with a small wall thickness. Thanks to this property, a soundproofing effect is also achieved.
- Resistance to temperature extremes.
- Simple installation technology.
- The board is flexible to processing, it can be easily cut to the desired shape.
- Inert to chemical attack.
- Mineral wool is not of interest to rodents and insects; during operation, you can be calm about attacks from their side.
- The composition of the material is resistant to microbiological processes, which means that fungus and mold, if properly installed, will not spread along the walls of the building.
The insulator has a long service life. If properly laid during installation, it does not need to be changed until the end of the operation of the building.
High performance characteristics allow the use of the IZBA insulator for cladding the facades of multi-storey buildings
When choosing IZBA boards for insulating the entire structure or only part of it, it is necessary to take into account the shortcomings of the material in order to eliminate errors and troubles during installation or operation:
- The brittleness of the insulator, which is observed during mechanical stress on it during transportation or laying. A damaged slab loses its properties, so you need to handle it carefully.
- The weight of the basalt slab, in contrast to other mineral insulation materials, is more impressive.

Insulation range - available options
Insulation Izba is conventionally divided into categories: Super Light, Standard (thickness 50, 100, 150, 200 mm) and Izba Facade 150. Mineral slabs Super Light and Standard are designed for thermal insulation:
- wooden floor on logs;
- walls and attics;
- partitions;
- pitched roofs;
- industrial equipment;
- ventilation and air conditioning systems;
- pipes;
- heating systems at operating temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius.
In the case of multilayer thermal insulation, the Izba Super Light and Standard boards play the role of the bottom layer.
Insulation Izba Facade 150 is suitable for insulation of both single-layer and double-layer types. In the first case, they talk about insulating facades with a mandatory air gap and improving the sound insulation of the room as a bonus. In the second, the insulation plays the role of the upper outer layer, without requiring additional wind protection.
IZBA Standard
This category includes slabs with a density of 45 to 70 kilograms per cubic meter. They are intended for use as an insulating material in structures such as pitched roofs, vertical walls (and also tilted), partitions indoors, heating and ventilation systems... Also, the products are successfully used for three-layer (well) wall masonry.
Characteristic | IZBA STANDARD - 45 | IZBA STANDARD - 50 | IZBA STANDARD - 60 | IZBA STANDARD - 70 |
Density, kg / m3 | 45 (± 10%) | 50 (± 10%) | 60 (± 10%) | 70 (± 10%) |

Advantages of Izba isolation:
The insulation almost does not absorb water, as it is treated with a special oil composition, therefore, it does not lose its thermal insulation properties.
Mineral wool absorbs sound waves well, isolating the house from noise.
The material is non-flammable and does not allow fire to spread.
Plates are resistant to mechanical stress and chemically aggressive environments.
Insulation "Izba" can be quickly mounted due to its low weight, correct convenient shape, free cutting with a knife.
The price is 20% lower than similar imported and domestic basalt insulation materials.
Series and characteristics
Depending on the specifics of the future exploitation of mineral wool, the Borovichi plant BZMP produces basalt thermal insulation of various densities.
All boards in this series have an average thermal conductivity of 0.036-0.038 W / m · K and are produced in a thickness of 50-200 mm in four density options. But, according to builders, they are only suitable for horizontal unloaded structures such as floors - they are very flimsy.
- 25 kg / m3 - light loose mats P-75.
- 30 kg / m3 - the so-called Super Light Hut, which absorbs up to 3% of its volume of water when fully immersed. Such insulation must be carefully covered with hydro and vapor barrier. But it absorbs noise well.
- 35 kg / m3 is an inexpensive insulation with a compressibility of about 20% and a relatively high volumetric water absorption of 2.5%.
- 40 kg / m3 - these mats have approximately the same technical characteristics, but they are more in demand in construction. In fact, Izba Light-40 turned out to be the only material of satisfactory quality in its line, which is suitable not only for floors, but also for insulating interior partitions.
Despite the excellent thermal insulation characteristics and low cost of the Light-series, it is this group of products that accounts for a large number of dissatisfied customer reviews. The reason is that low density mineral wool suffers from an inhomogeneous structure and bald spots. True, this applies not only to Izba, but also to many other manufacturers of basalt wool.
Each heater in this series can be called universal. There are good slabs of medium hardness for inclined slopes, attics, exterior and interior walls. Their density corresponds to the brand of the product, that is, it can weigh 60 or 70 kg / m3. Lighter versions of the Izba Standard 50 or 45 type show themselves better in interior partitions or are used as the main lightweight layer of curtain facades together with Venti slabs (we will consider them in this review).
Main characteristics of the series:
- Thermal conductivity - 0.035-0.038 W / mK.
- Compressibility (depending on the density index) - 6-12%.
- Volumetric water absorption - 1.5%;
The thickness of the slabs is selected from a size range of 50-200 mm, but the most popular are heaters up to 100 mm.
3. Facade insulation.
Depending on the method of finishing the outer walls, you can choose two types of Izba insulation:
Rigid slabs with a density of 70 to 90 kg / m3 are intended for the construction of multi-layer curtain wall systems. They are quite resilient to hold up between the battens of the sheathing. But for more effective thermal insulation, it makes sense to buy a light Izba Standard and form a lower layer from it. Products of the Venti series already have a certain compressive strength (10-15 kPa) and tensile strength (3-7 kPa). The indicators are small, but such insulation is enough for curtain facades.
IZBA Venti
The density of such slabs varies from 70 to 90 kilograms per cubic meter. This material is used in curtain wall systems (in particular, in the construction of window and door openings as the main source of thermal insulation). The density and thickness of the slabs make it possible to dispense with the use of a windproof film.
Characteristic | IZBA VENTI - 70 | IZBA VENTI - 80 | IZBA VENTI - 90 |
Density, kg / m3 | 65-75 | 80 (±10%) | 90 (±10%) |

Izba Facade
Products marked 135, 150 and ВС are used for thermal insulation in facade structures, as finishes which are supposed to use plaster or ceramic tiles... Also, this material is used for scatter, including fire-fighting. The area of application of plates with MC marking is identical, but with the condition that the height of the building is not more than 16 meters.

Basalt thermal insulation of the IZBA brand
Basalt insulation - this is how the touching abbreviation IZBA stands for. This means that today's review will be devoted to one of the brands of mineral insulation produced by the Bogdanovichi plant in the Urals.
The technical characteristics of basalt wool, to which the new IZBA insulation belongs, have long been familiar to experienced builders:
- low thermal conductivity (up to 0.04 W / mK);
- incombustibility;
- average water absorption - up to 20% of its own weight or 0.3-1.5% by volume;
- tensile strength - 0.003 MPa;
- good air permeability - from 0.3 mg / mh · Pa.
But for various structures, thermal insulation must be selected separately, focusing on its additional technical properties. That is why basalt IZBA is offered in a large assortment.
Types of thermal insulation
1. IZBA P-75 is the lightest insulation in the entire line, with a density of only 25 kg / m3. With such characteristics, it is not necessary to count on high insulation strength. But when laid horizontally in unloaded structures, for example, in interfloor ceilings, it shows itself perfectly. The thickness of the slabs is 50 mm.
2. Super Light 30 - lightweight thermal insulation with good acoustic properties, also designed for structures that do not experience high loads, but is already suitable for internal partitions. It has a volumetric weight of only 30 kg / m3 and a thermal conductivity of 0.036 W / mK. It is produced in three versions with a thickness of 50-70 mm.
3. Light - transitional form from Super Light to Standard with a density of 40 kg / m3 with the same insulating characteristics.
4. Izba Standard 50, 60 and 70 - the number in the designation indicates the weight of one cube of basalt insulation, offered in 6 sizes from 50 to 100 mm. Wired mats of this type are suitable for thermal insulation of roofs, walls for cladding made of plastic panels and all the same partitions. Thermal conductivity almost does not differ from the characteristics of "light" versions - 0.035 W / m · K, but water absorption by weight is twice lower (10%).
5. Venti - used to create ventilated facades from heavy composite panels. Available in three versions: 80, 90 and 110 kg / m3.
6. Sandwich - excellent wall slabs weighing from 100 to 120 kg / m3 (series "C") and 130-140 kg / m3 for stitched mats marked with the letter "K". BZMP appeared in the product line recently. Their thermal conductivity ranges from 0.044 to 0.05 W / mK. This is quite enough for insulation of the roof and outer walls in a private house using sandwich technology.
7.The roof - judging by the reviews, is the most durable of the presented basalt insulation options. It has an additional division into three types with their own characteristics depending on the scope of application:
- Roof Bottom (100-110 kg / m3) - used for single-layer roof insulation.
- Roof Top (175 or 190 kg / m3) - used for insulating flat structures in two layers. Much more expensive than the "lower" version, but in terms of performance, it is significantly superior to it.
- The roof (135-150 kg / cubic meter) is a universal insulation for those who do not know what to choose.
8. Facade - keeps its shape well due to the density of 135-150 kg / m3, which makes it possible to use it for external wall insulation. According to reviews, it practically does not shrink on vertical surfaces and calmly transfers the plaster facing along the reinforcing mesh.
Isba mineral wool insulation is a versatile material that can be used to wrap the whole house from top to bottom, from the inside or outside. You just need to choose the right type of insulation in accordance with the place of its "work".
Insulation reviews
“Izba remained dissatisfied. I got a couple of packages of Super Light, because in the midst of the work I ran out of Ecover. It was no longer in the store, so they advised me this insulation. In appearance and density, the slabs of both brands are similar, like twins. But it was unpleasantly struck that in each pack of Izba there were several “bald” sheets with crumbling fibers ”.
Egor Rebrov, Chelyabinsk.
“Sorry, but with a thickness of 5 cm and a ridiculous weight of 30 kg / cubic meter, the slab will not only become bald, but almost shine through. We recommend our customers to take Izba with a class not lower than the Standard, even for floors with a lagged floor system. And there have been no complaints about them yet. After all, the price really turns out to be democratic, and the insulation is conscientious. It's just that the author of the review, apparently, had no luck with the party. "
Anna Nikolaevna, Moscow.
“I also did not like the fact that the IZBA P-75 insulation literally crumbles in my hands - I worked extremely carefully, but still here and there I had to lay the corners with fallen pieces. I think this is due to the small length of the basalt fibers, and in some places a sintered bead comes across. Although, with the minimum density and the same price, I did not expect especially high quality from it. "
Mikhail, Volgograd.
“I know Izba only from reviews, although there are not so many of them on the net. But I also think that first of all you need to look not at the price of the insulation, but at its volumetric weight. And if in fact you are not satisfied with the density of thermal insulation, then you should pay a little more, but buy plates of a higher class. "
Andrey Sergeevich, Perm.
Reviews of the Izba brand insulation as its main positive aspects point to a low cost compared to other basalt slabs, as well as a large assortment. However, complaints about defects and unstable thickness among "light" series up to 35-40 kg / m3 are often heard.
The cost
Insulation type IZBA | Thickness, mm | Thermal conductivity, W / mK | Price per cube, rubles |
P-75 | 50 | 0,036 – 0,038 | 1030 |
Super Light | 50 – 200 | 1060 | |
Light | 1280 | ||
Standard | 50 – 200 | 0,035 – 0,044 | 2000 |
Venti | 2460 | ||
Roof Bottom | 2760 | ||
Roof Top | 40 – 60 | 0,037 – 0,048 | 4800 |
Facade | 50 – 150 | 0,035 – 0,046 | 3760 |
Roof | 0,037 – 0,043 | ||
Sandwich | 100 – 150 | 0,045 – 0,050 | 4600 |
The cost of insulation Izba is really one of the lowest on the market for basalt insulation. Although it all depends on the thickness and density of the stitched mats.
