How Nobo electric convectors work
Norwegian electric heating convectors Nobo have a 30-year service life. At the same time, they effectively and quickly warm up the room and maintain a favorable microclimate.
The high heat transfer of Nobo convection heating radiators is provided by several factors:
Winter has just ended ... This is the third winter that I spend in the company of two NOBO convectors and I want to share my impressions of their work.
They work for me in a country house, where we often visit even in winter. Heating in the house, during our absence, works in standby mode. This is due to economy issues. The temperature is maintained slightly above zero degrees, I cannot accurately describe its fluctuations, but definitely no more than 10 degrees. Therefore, as soon as we arrive, the first thing to do is turn on the heating. We used to turn on the main heating, but it took time to start it in full working mode. In addition, it took time to warm up the house. Only by morning did it become warm and cozy in all the rooms, but they definitely had to have dinner in sweaters and warm socks. Of course it was not very convenient. Everything changed when a neighbor told me to put convectors in the house. Upon arrival, just click the switch and the rooms immediately begin to fill with warmth. Convectors warm up the premises much faster than the main heating (although their work is more expensive and they are, of course, less economical). Why convectors and not other types of heaters? Today, the efficiency of convectors is the highest in comparison with other types of heaters. Heaters with an open spiral or heating elements are not only dangerous, but also burn oxygen. After their long-term work, there will literally be nothing to breathe in the room. Oil heaters are not dangerous and do not burn oxygen, but they have a very slow heat exchange with the surrounding air. They themselves are hot, but the room heats up very, very slowly. Infrared heaters are good for everyone, but it must be borne in mind that they heat objects, and those, in turn, heat the air in the room. But this approach to heating is not always convenient, profitable and possible. Therefore, the last, best option remains: convectors. Electric convectors do not burn oxygen and quickly heat up the air due to its intensive exchange.
When the issue of purchasing convectors, as an option for small and quick heating for the house, was resolved, another question arose: which convectors to buy? I will not talk about a lot of research work that I have done before giving preference to one or another firm. Just believe that I approached this issue very, very seriously, fortunately, there were time and opportunities for this (and who wants to spend their hard-earned money, moreover, not very small ones, on a thing that will not fully satisfy you , or even worse, it will generally fail quickly). Through lengthy research, it was decided to purchase convectors from the NOBO company.
Convector Nobo.
Initially, I wanted to buy two 2 kW convectors, and then buy a few more small ones to distribute them evenly around the house. But this idea never came to fruition, for one simple reason: two convectors for 2 kW turned out to be quite enough for me.
It has been three years (three winters and three off-seasons) that I have been using these convectors. The term is quite sufficient to give an objective assessment of their work, based on personal experience. Let's start with the pros. This is, firstly, pleasant, and, secondly, there are many of them and they are all fundamentally important.
1. Convectors are very economical. Although at the moment of switching on they consume 2 kW, which is quite a lot (and two convectors, so all four!), But they very quickly warm up the room and go into the mode of maintaining the temperature with periodic switching on. Therefore, the overall, average load on the power grid and their electricity consumption are not significant. In financial terms, this is practically not noticeable (personally, I did not notice any overpayments for electricity at all).
2. NOBO convectors are very reliable. For the entire period, from the moment of purchase, they have already worked many hours and so far pah, pah, pah there are no breakdowns and complaints. All units and components work like new. I do not remember what kind of guarantee they have, most likely, it has already ended altogether, but the fact that I did not use this guarantee is perhaps the best guarantee!
3. They work absolutely silently and not noticeably, according to the principle: put it on, turn it on and forget it. No clicks, smells, glows, squeaks, etc. As if these convectors do not exist at all. Only if you raise your hand, you feel how warmth goes. And yet, on the side there is a small, barely noticeable, red light that lights up when the convector is turned on.
4. Very high performance. It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the review, I described in such detail the conditions under which the convectors work. A house in which only 5-7 degrees, they warm up to 18-19 in just half an hour. I open the first floor, turn on the convectors and still have no time to drive the car into the territory and get something out of the trunk, and already at home I can be without warm clothes. Of course, you can't go to bed in half an hour - it's cold, but it's quite possible to have dinner in some shirts. Heating over 20 degrees is slower and this takes more than one hour, but this is no longer so important. It is important to raise the temperature quickly in the first minutes and hours of your stay in the house. Two convectors heat an area of more than 100 square meters. As I already said, I wanted to buy a few more small convectors to help the big ones and for faster and more uniform heating of the room, but I still haven't bought it. It's just that somehow it is not necessary ...
5. Extremely ergonomic and compact. Easy, logical and does not noticeably fit into the design of the room.
Well, now for the disadvantages. Although, these shortcomings, in fact, are not. This is just real objectivity or all or almost all heaters suffer from them.
1. They require a good electrical network (if we talk about 2 kW convectors) and in general, like any electric heater, it is less profitable than central steam heating. Such heaters are only an auxiliary heating option, for example, in the off-season or, like mine, before the main heating system is turned on.
2. Quite expensive. NOBO - expensive convectors. It is more expensive than its counterparts from other manufacturers. This is their disadvantage. But you have to pay for quality and flawless work. And the formula you pay once, and you use it all your life, fits perfectly here. If you need a heater for one season, then buying NOBO does not make sense. If you want to buy a heater for your beloved, seriously and for a long time - then this is only NOBO. There are no other alternatives on the modern market (meaning in terms of price / quality / performance ratio).
3. The heater is optionally provided with wheels for its movement, if it will not be mounted on the wall. These wheels are very flimsy, and here the manufacturer has not completed and cheated. It is better not to mess with them and put the convector on a stand (legs) and not fool yourself.
And in conclusion of the review, I want to say that if you need a high-quality, efficient, reliable and safe heater, then it can only be a convector and only a NOBO convector! Do not exchange for other models. They will be either more expensive or cheaper, but worse. Trust my experience.
Why Nobo Heaters Are Good
Convector electric heaters Nobo practically have no analogues in terms of appearance, thermal performance and safety. Separate mention should be made of simple and at the same time convenient control of both individual devices and several heaters connected to the same network.
Attractive appearance of Nobo electric convectors
Nobo convectors are distinguished by their beautiful appearance and design, which fully corresponds to modern trends. Those who prefer classic shapes will appreciate the Viking and Nordic models. For rooms made in the Hi-Tech style, the Nobo SAFIR glass thermal electric heating panel is suitable.
Thermal characteristics of heaters
The technical characteristics of Nobo convectors are practically unparalleled. The performance of the equipment varies from 0.5 to 2 kW, which makes it possible to select the equipment that best suits the parameters of the room.
Energy consumption is reduced in comparison with analogs by 5-10% due to electronic control. Models with a remote thermostat allow panel heaters to be installed at any required height.
Beneficial effect on indoor microclimate
and Unlike oil radiators, electric convectors do not burn oxygen in the room during operation, which contributes to maintaining a favorable healthy microclimate.
UFO
Tenth place in the ranking.
Electric convectors UFO are useful devices for use in domestic premises. Their operating temperature ranges from 5C to 30C. The company also produces infrared heaters.
If the parameter falls below the minimum value, the electric convector immediately starts working.

How to choose a Nobo electric heater
It is not difficult to choose the right Nobo heating electric convector for heating a private house or apartment.Problems arise when choosing the equipment necessary for heating warehouse or office premises, as well as if it is planned to heat several rooms at once with electric convectors.
The main rules affecting the choice of a convector are:
- Performance - you can calculate the power and the number of heaters required to heat the premises as follows. Provided that the ceiling height is no more than 270 cm, 1 kW of energy is required for every 10 m². But if the total area of the room is 20 m², it is better to install two convectors of 1 kW for heating than one for 2 kW. The best solution is to simultaneously install four heating devices of 0.5 kW each, but this option, as a rule, is rejected due to the high cost of equipment.
- Features of operation - when calculating the efficiency of equipment, it is taken into account how intensively it is planned to use the heating device. So, when using the heater as additional heating, only 40-50% of the device's power is required. Usually, the manufacturer indicates the heated area in a certain range, for example, 22-30 m. The lower number, as a rule, refers to the capabilities of the heater used without additional heat sources. The upper value indicates how much area the convector will heat up when other heating systems are used at the same time.
- Appearance - you can choose both classic models and thin wall-mounted electric convectors Nobo, made in the form of panels. Glass heaters are especially popular as they can decorate the interior. Legs for installing the convector on the floor are designed for models C4F, C4N, C4E, C2F, C2N, C2E, Safir II. For the rest of the series, a special wall bracket is provided.
- Type of premises - office and warehouse premises are best heated with convectors connected to a single network. A programmable thermostat using Nobo Energy Control automatically maintains the set temperature while reducing electricity costs by about 10-15%. The software also reduces the power of the heaters in the absence of a person in the room, allowing you to maintain a minimum temperature.
- Additional features - when choosing a device, you should pay attention not only to performance, but also to some useful functionality. Some models are designed to operate at reduced mains voltage. A useful feature is the presence of sensors that turn off the heating when the device overturns, or if the surface temperature exceeds permissible limits.
"Nobo" "Nordic": a variety of models and their technical characteristics
The small dimensions and weight of Nordic convectors, which you can buy at the best prices in the online stores of partner companies, allow you to easily mount them on the wall, thereby saving room space. In this case, the bracket - fastening is already included in the delivery set of equipment. If you do not want to hang the heater on the wall, the manufacturer has provided for its floor placement. True, the legs with a swivel mechanism, which makes it possible to move the device in any direction, you will have to purchase separately.
As for the technical characteristics of the models of the series, convectors are presented in it, whose power varies from 500W to 2 kW. From among them, you can always choose the unit that is ideal for your needs:
- NOBO Nordic NFC 4W 05, whose dimensions are 52.5 × 40 × 9 cm, and its weight is three kilograms nine hundred grams, has a power of 500 W, sufficient to heat a room with an area of 5-7 m². Its price is about 7200 rubles.
- NOBO Nordic NFC 4W 10, whose dimensions are 72.5 × 40 × 9cm, and its weight is five kilograms one hundred grams, has a power of 1000W, sufficient to heat a room with an area of 10 - 12m². Its price is about 8000 rubles.
- NOBO Nordic NFC 4W 15, whose dimensions are 102.5 × 40 × 9cm, and its weight is four kilograms seven hundred grams, has a power of 1500W, sufficient to heat a room with an area of 15-17m². Its price is about 9300 rubles.
- The convector NOBO Nordic NFC 4W 20, whose dimensions are 132.5 × 40 × 9cm, and the weight is seven kilograms three hundred grams, has a power of 2000W, sufficient to heat a room with an area of 20-24m². Its price is about 10900 rubles.
The above models of the Nordic series convectors are perfect for heating rooms in houses and city apartments, as well as for heating offices and shops. Working on the principle of natural air circulation, these devices will cope with the establishment of the optimal indoor microclimate in the cold season, using as the main or additional heat source.
At the same time, it is not difficult to choose the device that is optimal for your needs. If you consume heat from the central boiler room, however, want to create a more comfortable temperature at home or at work, the NOBO Nordic NFC 4W 500-watt convector will be enough for you as an additional heat source. If you are faced with the task of organizing the heating of a room "from scratch", here you should take a closer look at more energy efficient devices - with a capacity of 1 or 2 kW. When choosing, take into account the area of the room that needs heating - on average, 10 "squares" are enough for the kilowatt power of the device.
How to correctly install a convector of the Nobo brand
Additional fasteners for mounting the convector are not required. The rear panel has a removable frame. It is installed and fixed to the wall with dowels.
Installation is carried out as follows:
- A place for the installation is selected. It is forbidden for the heater to be located directly above the socket, therefore, it is shifted to the side by about 10-15 cm. Before installation, make sure that the wiring is able to withstand the required power of the electric convector.
- The mounting frame is removable. Using a pencil, the attachment points are marked. You can use the frame itself as a guide.
- Holes are drilled.
- The mounting frame is screwed on. A convector is installed on top.
To carry out the installation work correctly, you must take into account the following recommendations:
- The maximum surface heating temperature is only 90 ° C. It is impossible to burn yourself on the body. Thermal sensors will turn off the device at higher temperatures. It will be easier to avoid overheating of the surface and emergency shutdown of the device if the distance to the nearest objects is at least 50 cm.
- The connection of Nobo convectors to the mains by means of a cable must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- The minimum distance from the bottom of the convector to the floor is 5 cm.
Cons of convectors Nobo
Immediately, we note that you can buy a Nobo convector with an official guarantee from the manufacturer only in Russia. In Ukraine and Belarus, this manufacturer does not work. Therefore, if you find it in these countries, there can be no question of a guarantee.
There are several serious disadvantages of this convector:
- large dimensions. We'll have to think over the place where it will be installed. Noyrot has a serious advantage in this regard, since it is compact;
- high price. The Nobo convector is manufactured in Norway, which is fully reflected in its cost;
A bit of history
The heating systems company started its activity in 1918. The first products that the new factory produced were buckets on which manufacturers practiced their skills in working with sheet metal.
And since 1929, the company began to direct its production activities towards heating systems. By 1947, the production of heating systems was improved, and then the company boldly began to manufacture a series of convectors.
By visiting the official website of the Nobo convector company, you can familiarize yourself with the product catalog in detail and choose the most optimal variant of heating equipment for yourself.
The company, in addition to convectors, also manufactures additional components for heating systems (heat pumps, once-through boilers, automatic control systems and many other very useful little things). All this proves once again the high level of quality of these products.
Convector model overview
Convector selection depending on size and power
You can buy Nobo convectors in any well-known store, as well as using the company's official website, where you will be provided with a very wide range of convector products. With the help of the program that is available on the company's website, you can easily choose a convector, focusing on the area of the room that you plan to heat.
Convectors Noirot CNX series
This series has an original design that allows you to evenly distribute heat. The air passes through the heating element of the convector, and then, already heated, comes out through the grilles. At the same time, the air does not dry out. The heater can work around the clock - its electrical protection belongs to class 2, which means that convectors of the CNX series do not need to be grounded or connected through a special power supply unit. When following the rules of use specified in the operating instructions, the risk of ignition of such a convector is generally excluded.
The convectors can also be used in rooms with high humidity (for example, you can turn it on in the bathroom) thanks to a special splash-proof housing.
In addition to fairly fast heating, the CNX series convectors have other positive qualities. For example, it is absolutely safe to use: its surface, even in the area of the grate, does not heat up above +60 degrees, and all the corners are rounded. So such a heater can be used in a room with a small child, without endangering the life and health of this child.
It can withstand voltage “surges”: even if it drops to 150 V or rises to 242 V, the device will continue to operate in a stationary mode.
The heater is equipped with a mechanical thermostat, which makes it possible to set the temperature with an accuracy of 1 °.
The most popular model is the Noirot cnx 2 1000 convector with a power of 1000 W, designed for heating rooms with an area of 10-15 m2.
Also in this series, heaters with a capacity of 500, 1500 and 2000 W are produced for heating areas of 5-8, 15-20 and 20-25 m2, respectively.
